ENGLISH TEACHER – SPEAKER OF THE LANGUAGE OF GALSWORTHY AND DICKENS
Traditionally, at Turan Lyceum, one of the special courses in English for grades 4–9 is taught by a teacher from London, the UK. We intentionally make a choice in favor of a native speaker of classical English. We believe that children should first learn the language of Galsworthy and Dickens, and only then, if necessary, various dialects.
This school year we have a new teacher – Mr. Elliot Place. The young teacher was introduced to the team at a school pedagogical council (08/27), where he, as a newcomer, was presented a branded mug with the best wishes.
After the pedagogical council, an expanded meeting of the department of English teachers was held, at which, among others, the question of a special course program was considered: goals and objectives, content, forms of organization, teaching methods. Mr. Elliot’s methodological system and its place in a holistic educational program for in-depth study of the English language were collegially discussed.
