REGULAR RAFTING ON THE ILI RIVER
May! It’s time to go rafting on the Ili River.
The weather did not let down, it rained in the city, and we managed to get a little sunburn. Clean air, coolness from the water, beautiful landscapes and mysterious rocks accompanied us throughout the whole day. The team gathered large, as usual. Rafting has become a tradition of our school, and we have been visiting this area for more than a year. And each time we come back with pleasant emotions, satisfied and filled with positive energy. The places here are of incredible beauty. The Ili River is quite wide and very picturesque, therefore we are returning.
This year we sailed 28 km, that’s 3 km more than in previous years. 3 rafts were involved. The group had a lot of fifth graders, little rafters, which is very pleasing. Their interest is huge. No one was indifferent. We learned to work in groups. We learned how to sit in a raft, hold a paddle, listen and hear each other, which is very important during teamwork. They also learned a couple of interesting terms: “taban”, “dry paddles” and etc.
Tired but pleased with ourselves, we relaxed in the meadow. Then we walked, had a snack, recorded a video and happily went home.
