SEMINAR “ATTENTION PROCESSES – A FACTOR OF SUCCESSFUL LEARNING”
During the winter holidays, the psychological and medical-pedagogical service of Turan Lyceum conducted a seminar for secondary and high school teachers on the topic:” Attention processes – a factor of successful learning.” The psychologists presented theoretical information, practical exercises and techniques to improve students’ attention. Speech therapist introduced a variety of neuropsychological exercises. The school doctor spoke about the psychophysiological nature of attention processes in students of different ages. The seminar was held in an interactive form: teachers worked in group using brainstorming and critical thinking techniques. Teachers took active part in the event, discussing issues related to the topic of the seminar, asked questions, performed exercises on development of voluntary attention.
Creative tasks revealed the level of creativity of teachers in designing the image of a teacher.
An analysis of the written reviews of the seminar at the reflection at the end of the workshop showed that the event proved to be relevant for teachers, as well as interesting and informative.
The success of children in school and other activities largely depend on the attentiveness. Attention can and should be developed, and schooling is a powerful incentive. In the working process the teacher must take into account the age-related features of the attention of schoolchildren. The teacher needs to organize own activities in such a way as to concentrate and get students interested in the education process activating the attention of children. Effective means of developing attention include games and exercises that can be included even in very serious activities.
Only by teaching children to be attentive, the teacher can count on the success of educational activities
